TRAINING DURING THE MENOPAUSE
Just as the menopause will happen at a different time for each woman, each woman will experience this life period differently. It is common however, for women to find that their usual diet and exercise routines aren't having the same impact. Weight gain happens more easily and it is possible to find oneself confused and unsure of what steps to take next.
Fit for Menopause
During menopause a holistic approach to health and wellbeing can help to manage uncomfortable symptoms for many. Changes to nutrition, mental health – via stress reduction and better sleep – and exercise can all work to control and ease the symptoms many women experience at this time.
Many women shy away from resistance training at this stage of their lives, but it’s more important than ever that women build, or maintain, muscle mass, alongside good nutrition habits, mobility and flexibility work.
There is so much that can be done to make the menopause a positive time of life!
